the ongoing & sporadic incidents of shed breaks in the most rural areas, for people to be observant & on the lookout for suspicious vehicles in the area.
A lot of work is being done by investigations, so vehicle indexes are really useful for us. Offenders seem to be using a multitude of different vehicles, often coming across border from Devon & Cornwall, so work is being done with them to try & establish who we are dealing with. The fact that they will hit one area hard for a short period of time, then move on to a totally new area makes this one hard to tackle, so we do need people to remain vigilant, & regularly review their security. Often, people leave shed doors wide open whilst they are out working- which leaves great opportunity for offenders to view before coming back if the contents are of interest to them!

Also, recent incidents of phone calls alleging to be from the Tax Office ( actually calling on the Tax office 0300 number). The caller tells the victim that there is a warrant out for their arrest , for non-payment of Income Tax. After having made payment in the belief that this is a genuine call, the victim receives another call, saying that they can send round an advisor to give guidance on filling out self assessment forms…. & this will cost another £150! These are NOT genuine calls,
